Marco Antonio Barrera is #1!!

« on: November 28, 2004 - 11:49PM »

Marco always wears those nice boxing shoes with those really big soles. He wore them against Morales last night and against Ayala. Does anyone know what the name of those shoes are because I gotta get me some?

I'm sure he'll probably send them a nice card after that slip and slide
in the twelth round, not sure if the boots caused it or saved him but it
was mad skills to stay upright.

What happened to his deal with Roca Wear, in the training photos
he had some of their gear on?

it was the kind of slip that can cause a muscle pull. He did well to stay up. Didn't Hussein also slip on that spot?

No i agree, I think i'm in the minority hear but I really think
JMM will win a rematch with Manny, I think he's a class act,
i remember watching him fight Medina when he opened up
Medina something bad.

JMM knows what Pac has got, in my opinion he won the first and would outbox him again, he did get mugged in the first round and I doubt he'd be as careless again. Same thing with Barrera, bad prep for the fight, you could just see it, just like you could see he was well prepared mentally & physically for Morales.  Time will tell of course. Wink

De La Hoya said as much in the ring after the fight, it wasn't Barrera in there.

Prepare right and there is nobody he can't destroy, I have been thinking about this
and i would say he is the most naturally gifted boxer i have ever witnessed, his ability
to slip punches and shorten his punches working on the inside is incredible he has the
best timing also, must be a nightmare to hit. Plus i wouldn't want to take one back  Smiley

We're been saying it till we're sick of saying it Shearer.

He judges distance well. I've said it before. Quite often he'll dip or pull away, turn from a punch and it misses by a fraction, if you're not watching properly it can look like it lands because of the way he moves from the punch but it doesn't. Class indeed.

Pastrana's his surname, was on the undercard on sat, he's a columbian, got stopped
by Rafael Marquez, JMMs little bro

I've got some Mizuno running shoes that i train in, but not seen any
boxing boots around, i got mizunos from a specialist running shop in Newcastle as
i dont think they're as popular as they once were, didn't know Marco wore them
at the time, they were the only ones that fit my feet properly.

good argument, but my guess is PAC will be better in another fight against JMM..! i wouldn't exactly say that JMM looked "better" after rounds 1 & 2... i'd rather say PAC messed up after those rounds..! he relied too much on his one-two... i think their next encounter will also be a fight between the coaches..! freddie roach will prepare PAC much etter - my guess is that we will see a more "boxer"-PAC... at least that's what i would suggest to PAC, since a fighter should never rush into a counterpuncher...
JMM has skills, but he never outboxed PAC - PAC just somehow "forgot" his arsenal..!i guess he was too eager to KO JMM... i think he's learned his lesson (or at least i hope he did)...
PAC will outscore JMM in their next battle... and with a little luck he might even KO him..! JMM might drop PAC once in their next encounter, but he'll have to move forward to outscore PAC...

as for MAB: he'll definitely give PAC a tougher time, IF they meet again..! well, he might have prepared himself poorly in november 2003, but i still want to know: if PAC's not on the same level, how the hell did he do THAT to MAB? you guys gotta give PAC the credit he deserves...
JMM ain't nothing... let him fight against MAB... my bet is he'll get mugged all night..!

i have to admit that MAB is the more tactically intelligent fighter... PAC is more "all out, gung-ho"... and JMM is palin boring, but he's a champ alright..! hmmm... EM... pretty disappointing - especially what he did to MAb's dad...  Roll Eyes
